What is Puberty Disorder?
More often observed in the formation of homosexuality or bisexuality in men. However, some evidence suggests that up to 10% of men and 10% of women in post-puberty experience puberty.
Causes of Puberty Disorders
In puberty and post-puberty, experiences of ambivalence are possible when evaluating one’s sexual constitution and gender, due to psychoendocrine inversion or the actual formation of homosexuality (bisexuality or heterosexuality). This is a special form of psychological crisis in the formation of secularity.
Symptoms of Puberty Disorders
The patient suffers from uncertainty about his gender or sexual orientation, which leads to anxiety or depression. Uncertainty is associated with ambivalent feelings experienced by the patient towards partners, features of erotic fantasies, difficulties in relations with members of one or another sex, for example, difficulties in communication and understanding. Anxiety or depression can occur as a reaction to a conflict or endogenously, as a result of an “invasion” of a fantasy of a different orientation. The delay in the formation or instability of the Ego leads to a constant feeling of uncertainty about the correctness of its orientation.
Diagnosis of Puberty Disorders
Emotional reactions in connection with the suffering of awareness of one’s sexual orientation.
Differential diagnosis
It should be differentiated from anxiety disorder and depressive disorder. These affective disorders are not limited to the sphere of partnerships and cover a wider range of somatic (vegetative) and mental components. Nevertheless, since affective disturbances can manifest in adolescence, they should be carefully separated from the puberty crisis.
Treating Puberty Disorders
Psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, behavioral therapy.
